Available Coaching Positions
Head Coach (Youth - U15, U13, U11, U9, and U7)
Primary responsibilities, as a member of the Seneca Valley Coaching Staff, are to prepare, implement, and teach the offensive/defensive systems to the relative youth team
Requirements:
- Effectively communicate ideas, thoughts and critiques to the players
- Participate in developing, preparing, and implementing practice plans for each scheduled practice to utilize all of the allotted time
- Contribute to the overall SV Boys Lacrosse program through the development of:
- Fundamental offensive or defensive concepts and principles (throwing/catching, ball movement, 1v1 techniques, on/off ball positioning and movement, etc…)
- Participate in interactions with players as an educator of the sport and mentorAssuring proper safety is maintained on and off the field at all items
Qualifications:
- Experience playing lacrosse at the high school or collegiate level
- Ability to work together and effectively with other coaches
- Ability to communicate, teach and instruct efficiently throughout practices and games
- Strong ethical character
- PA Mandated Background checks are required
- Coaching US Lacrosse Membership

Offensive/Defensive Coach (Varsity)
Primary responsibilities, as a member of the Seneca Valley Coaching Staff, are to prepare, implement, and teach the offensive/defensive systems to the varsity team
Requirements:
- Create an offensive/defensive scheme that utilizes the current players to enable the team to be as successful as possible throughout the season
- Develop and implement unique game plans and strategies prior to each contest
- Ability to make in game adjustments based on analyzing the opponent’s offense/defense
- Produce a scouting report of the opponents strengths and weaknesses
- Effectively communicate ideas, thoughts and critiques to the players
- Coordinate and actively coach the offense or defense during practices and games
- Participate in developing, preparing, and implementing practice plans for each scheduled practice to utilize all of the allotted time
- Assist in creatively developing motivational approaches to practices, drills, and games
- Help with pre-game and post-game mental preparation of the team
- Contribute to the overall SV Boys Lacrosse program through the development of:
- Fundamental offensive or defensive concepts and principles (throwing/catching, ball movement, 1v1 techniques, on/off ball positioning and movement, etc…)
- A comprehensive program of offensive or defensive schemes, sets, and strategies for both even and man-up/down situations against a variety of different sets
- Participate in interactions with players as an educator of the sport and mentor
- Assuring proper safety is maintained on and off the field at all items
- Assistance in college placement and recruitment of players would be a plus
Qualifications:
- Experience playing lacrosse at the collegiate level
- Experience coaching at the high school or middle school level
- Ability to work together and effectively with coaching staff
- Experience in developing and implementing offensive or defensive systems, schemes, and game plans
- Ability to communicate, teach and instruct efficiently throughout practices and games
- Commitment throughout the year to be available for practices and games
- Strong ethical character
- Familiar with WPIAL and PIAA lacrosse rules and regulations
- Familiar with the National Federation of State High School (NFHS) rules
- PA mandated background checks are required
- Complete all training required by the Seneca Valley School District for compliance with PA ACT 101 –Safety in Youth Sports

Offensive/Defensive Coach (Junior Varsity, 9/10)
Primary responsibilities, as a member of the Seneca Valley Coaching Staff, are to develop the fundamental skills and implement the offensive/defensive systems to prepare players for Varsity
Requirements:
- Efficiently develop the players lacrosse abilities, knowledge and understanding of the game to prepare them for the Varsity level
- Focusing on teaching the fundamentals of the game before teaching advanced concepts
- Participate in developing, preparing, and implementing practice plans for each scheduled practice to utilize all of the allotted time
- Assist in creatively developing motivational approaches to practices, drills, and games
- Understand and implement the basic Varsity offensive/defensive schemes and terms
- Ability to coach a wide variety of skill level
- Effectively communicate ideas, thoughts and critiques to the players
- Coordinate and actively coach the offense or defense during practices and games
- Help with pre-game and post-game mental preparation of the team
- Contribute to the overall SV Boys Lacrosse program through the development of:
- Fundamental offensive or defensive concepts and principles (throwing/catching, ball movement, 1v1 techniques, on/off ball positioning and movement, etc…)
- Preparation of players to compete at the next level
- Participate in interactions with players as an educator of the sport and mentor
- Assuring proper safety is maintained on and off the field at all items
